Transmitting ACA Data to the IRS

The PrismHR system can electronically transmit client ACA returns to the IRS. This process is called E-filing.

Note:  If you want to electronically transmit your Forms 1094-C and 1095-C, you must register in the ACA Information Returns (AIR). You can register with the IRS at this link.

These procedures are required for each 1094-C client account that you need to submit:

After registering with the IRS, enter your TCC in the system.

Create and send the test files.

Once the IRS approves the test submission for the client, create and submit the transmission files.

Submit the files to the IRS using their AIR UI Channel.

After submitting the files, you will receive a receipt ID from the IRS that you need to track.

In some circumstances, you might need to correct or replace information:

Corrections: If you need to make adjustments to a client or employee after the IRS accepted the transmission, you can send a correction. See Submitting a Correction.
Replacements: If the IRS rejected a transmission or submission, you must send a replacement. See Submitting a Replacement.
